Goodwill Goodies...

These are some Goodwill Goodies I found last week. I can't find my receipt, but I think my total was about $12.00.... woo-hoo! I'll keep the candle because I love candles. I'll use the napkin holder to hold my business cards on my jewelry display at the Redhorse Antique Mall. The plate is already on a shelf that I'm in the process of decorating and figuring out what I want to go on it. The sparkly, round candles I may use during christmas or may use to make something for my booth/display. The star/moon/heart frame... not sure... any ideas? The cherub frame I will make something to put in it and sell and the moss always comes in handy with re-potting plants...
Pretty good haul, I'd say!

Creativity... and antique bottles

Recently I've become addicted to blogs. I admit it. I AM AN ADDICT!

I've been so inspired by some of these blogs. I've spent hours and hours looking at these blogs. I decided I better STEP AWAY from the computer and start creating.

Yesterday I stepped away and got creative. I've been inspired by some of the women who decorate antique bottles.

Here is a bottle I had that had bath salts in it. I found it the other day. (I still have things I haven't put back into the bathroom after the remodel.) I noticed what a pretty shape it had so I thought I'd spruce it up a little....

Here is the antique bottle I decorated... not sure I'm happy with it. I may change it up some.

Here are a few other pictures from my creative day~

A new pretty~

I had so much fun making this necklace. I'm so glad I discovered the art of jewelry making. It's my therapy.
I love making pieces of whites, creams and silvers. I've made a couple of things in the past in these colors and they were snatched up pretty quick.
I am setting up a jewelry booth at the Red Horse Antique Mall tomorrow. I'm so excited!! It will be a mix of my jewelry, which is a variety of styles. I can't pick just one style to make because I love so many things.
I have vintage reconstructed pieces, mostly made of my mother's old jewelry that she collected for years. I call that line "Willeta's Vintage Jewels." Then I have a little girls line... "Little Lilly's"... too bad my girls are too big to wear this jewelry now. And I have a new line that I'm excited about called "hIpPiE cOwGiRL." I live in Texas and we like lots of big turquoise pieces and I have always loved a little bit of the hippie style so that's where the hippie part comes in :O) I've made 3 bracelets so far and they seem to be pretty popular. Now all I have to do is get some supplies to make some more. And then there's the rest of my jewelry which is just a variety of things for a variety of people~
I will also be adding some old bottles, frames and any other goodies I find to "fix up."
Wish me luck~
Oh yes, this necklace will be displayed in my new booth....

Goodwill Goodies...

Sometimes I visit the local Goodwill and find nothing! And... sometimes I find some goodies. The other day I found some goodies to go in my home... or maybe to sell. I haven't decided yet. Or maybe I'll put them in my home for awhile and then sell them.

Candlestick, $2.00... I like it. I'll probably keep it, at least for a while.

Iron scrolled container, $3.00. I bought a good smellin' candle, $1.00, at Goodwill also to put in it, but then it broke when something fell on top of the bag on the ride home... Oh well, I used it anyway.

I thought this frame was really pretty. I may paint it or maybe just leave it gold. What do you think? I bought some material to embroidery something to put in the frame. I haven't embroidered in many, many years so we'll see how that goes. Frame, $1.00.

Bargains make me so hApPy~ Total with tax... $7.54!!

hIpPiE* cOwGiRL & Vintage~

hIpPiE*cOwGiRL bracelet #3

I'm starting a new line of jewelry called ... hIpPiE*cOwGiRL

A little bit of hippie and a little bit of cowgirl.

This is my 3rd bracelet and I just love them! I'm so excited to make some more, but it seems I'm out of supplies. I hate it when that happens!

I've been spending a lot of time on the computer looking at blogs and there are so many creative women out there... I'm so inspired! In fact, I stayed up till 1:30 this morning and made three necklaces with vintage jewelry. I LOVE them all!! Of course, my camera battery is dead so no pictures today. I'll post some soon...

Also, today, while killing time in town waiting on my girls I visited an antique mall. It's been awhile since I've been in so I decided to go see if I could find some vintage jewelry goodies to use in my new necklaces. I found a few things that I might buy later. I started talking to the guy working there and inquired about booth costs. I told him I made jewelry and it just so happens that they had an empty jewelry display at the front of the store right beside the cash register for $30. a month!!!! It was a sign from the heavens!! No contracts and the store takes 5% which covers taxes and credit card fees. I took the guys card to think about it overnight... well.. I've thought about it and I'm SO going back tomorrow and reserving it! I may even put some things in it tomorrow!!! I'm so excited... I may not be able to sleep tonight...
