Love Who You Are Collage~

I got this lovely plaque at Goodwill for a dollar or two....

I brought out the white and red spray paint and covered up the lovely picture...

Finished... i think... it was my first collage so I have some

learnin' to do. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.

.... except, that cute little crystal/beauty mark is covering up a big ol' hole

that I made while trying to smooth out a bubble.

Oh well, i like things that aren't perfect.

Lost!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I drove off and left this sitting on the curb!!

I was driving down a street in my hometown headed about 30 miles down the road to pick up my daughter from a school function. I saw this and IMMEDIATELY pulled over. I think the guy behind me thought I was crazy. I wanted to just throw it in my car. I'm still driving the p t cruiser while my minivan is being put back together after the wreck. Anyway... I wasn't sure it would even fit. I WOULD HAVE MADE IT FIT!! I headed up to the door to make sure it was "trash"... Nobody was there!!! I stood there on their porch wondering if I should just take it... I KNEW it would be gone by the time I drove back by several hours later!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was kind of in a hurry and just wasn't sure if it was okay to take it so I drove off. I DROVE OFF!!!! AND LEFT THIS SITTING THERE FOR SOME OTHER LUCKY JUNKER TO COME BY AND SNATCH UP!!!

When I drove back by several hours... of course....

IT WAS GONE!

LOST!

FOREVER!!

Next time, I'm just going to take it! If' it's even NEAR the curb... IT'S MINE!!!

I've been making collages for the past few days. I'm kind of experimenting and learning, but it's just so fun!

It's been my escape from reality........

I think I'll call these *brown paper bag collages*
since I tore up a grocery sack from Braums to use as my canvas.

Embroidery ♥

Still busy. At home today and trying to "catch up." I have several posts I'd like to do, but need to be working on more important things right now. If I don't do these "chores" today I'll just keep feeling stressed and I'm really tired of feeling stressed.

I wanted to post a couple of pictures... I've rediscovered eMbROiDerY! My mother taught me many, many years ago. I've recently come across some great blogs with some embroidery pieces that I just loved so I decided to pick up the needle again. I'm a little rusty, but I'm learning new stitches and plan to do an embroidery sampler. My 15 year old daughter is even embroidering and is really good at it. I showed her a few stitches and she stitched a really nice little piece for me for my birthday. I'll post that picture later.

Been busy... and, oh yeah... I had a wreck!

I've been wanting to blog for days, but just haven't found the time.

I have lots of pictures of bargain finds, my birthday cookie (yes I had a birthday March 22,) works in progress and even

pictures of my smashed mini van to blog about...

I had a wreck yesterday. I'm okay, but my van is not. It was really scary. In my 30 years of driving I've never had a "real" wreck. A guy rear-ended me a couple of years ago in the rain, but it was nothing like smashing into another car (almost head-on) and knowing I was going to hit them and not be able to stop. Luckily I was only going about 40 miles an hour... still scary. After I got home and had picked up my kids from school I went in the bedroom and cried. I almost cried when my husband came to pick me up, but I held it in because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to stop. So, I held it in until it was just me and him. I just kept thinking what would my family do without me? I could have died today. I know... thoughts you don't want to have, but it could happen in a split second... life can change. I thanked God about a million times for keeping me safe and I tried to appreciate life a little more as I was going through my day today.

Here's a picture of my poor mini van. Even though a lot of mom's hate to drive a mini van... I have always loved mine.

New background/layout for blog~

I decided to change the look of my blog to more spring-y colors. I'm still playing with it and trying to figure some things out and it IS almost 1:30 AM!!!! I think I'll stop for the night and work on it some more tomorrow (actually it IS tomorrow... so I'll work on it later on TODAY )
