What's goin' on in the craft room

Slowly, very slowly, I've been working on my craft room.
I'm hoping this weekend me and the husband can move his crap
into one corner, organize it, get rid of some of it
and then
put something cool in front of it
to camoflauge it!

Like maybe these old door's from my dad's attic...

and another old door that is out in the barn.

See that maroon iron bed?
My daughter wants it painted gray and put in her room.
The craft room is full of projects.

Like this...

{Another "gem" found in my dad's garage. My mother loved old, chippy,
junk, antiques before it was cool. See pic below...
another piece my mother found somewhere.}

This will be painted black and go in my other daughter's room.
I'm hoping to buy the paint this weekend and finish it.

Here's my new chalk board wall in progress.
I fininshed painting it, but haven't painted the second coat yet.
I've been too busy this week and it's driving me crazy...
all I want to do is be in my craft room.
Cleaning, organizing, working on projects!!

{I just noticed you can't even see the typewriter on the floor. I'll post a pic soon... it's really cool}
I can't wait to write on that chalk wall...
neither can my kids.

I put magnets on the back of some of my collages and stuck them to the metal door.

Messy mess.

My daughter, Lydia made this one. I like it.

Still working on this one. It needs a little something more.
I like the poem. I have it on my fridge.
I think it's important for parents to remember.....

REALLY like this song.
I printed it out a couple of years ago
and gave it to my teen girls.
Important for them to remember and also
us moms too!

Still shiny... not dry yet.

I've been neglecting my jewelry making, but here are a few things I'm working on....

I think it's time to clean out my beading board... what a mess!

TODAY IS EARTH DAY... BE KIND TO THE EARTH

Progress on my craft room

I've been spending a lot of time lately cleaning my junk of a storage building. I still have a lot of work to do, but it's coming along. I decided I wouldn't wait till it was finished {because it may never be finished since it IS still a storage building} to start crafting. I'm slowly bringing things from the house to my ~NEW CRAFT ROOM~ I'm so excited.
I had tons of clothes that my kids have outgrown and did not sell in our yard sale hanging up in the building so yesterday I bagged up SIX trash bags and 3 wal-mart bags full of clothes to take to our church. It looks a lot better... more space!

I piled a bunch of stuff in a container ... what a mess! See any goodies in there?

SUPPLIES!

~Projects I'm working on~

I just love this quote.....
I'm looking forward to posting some of my FINISHED projects
and
more pictures of
my craft room
as it becomes
just what I want.

I've got plans...

I have many, many things I've picked up at Goodwill (my Goodwill Goodies), thrift stores, antique malls or "junk" given to me by friends. These "goodies" are just sitting around waiting for me to pick them up and get busy. I'm blaming my lack of doing anything on the weather. It's snowing (see last picture)... again! It never snows in Texas. This is the second time in a week and it's supposed to snow again Friday!!
I'm not complaining because it's beautiful. Anyway, it's too cold to work in my storage building. It's a mess in there and until I have time to clean it up all my little "projects", "junk", "goodies" ... things "I've got plans" for are sitting around cluttering up the house.

My newest goodwill finds...

I bought this bottle at Goodwill for $1.50. It's not antique, but it's pretty and "I've got plans" to alter it.

How about this cute metal container? Goodwill... $2.00. As soon as I walked in I grabbed it. "I've got plans" to paint it white, maybe red, and paint a rectangle of chalk paint. I love it! I can see some fresh flowers in it and the word FLOWERS written in chalk... cute, cute, cute.

Remember I said it was snowing... well, here's Abigail on the back porch
in the BEAUTIFUL snow.
{Not much snow on the ground. It had just started. Now, a couple of hours later, the ground is covered.}

Craft supplies...yay!

I bought these a few weeks ago and then the weather got really crappy. So.... they're sitting in my kitchen waiting patiently for me to use them. I actually have used the glue on a frame, but that's about as far as I've gotten. My son saw the chalk board paint tonight and asked what it was. When I told him I could make a chalk board out of any smooth surface he got excited. I'll be fixing some kind of chalk board for his room. I can't wait to use my new, cool supplies!
